Fastclip

Pandrol Fastclip is an established, highly regarded resilient, threadless rail fastening system. The family spans the FC and FE products, with switch on-switch off feature for mechanised installation, each engineered to meet the technical and commercial demands of a specific track environment.

What are Fastclip products and how do they work?

Fastclip is a resilient, threadless rail fastening system, with variations suited to different installation needs.

Pandrol’s switch-on/switch-off function enables fast and efficient installation on both ballasted and slab track. For ballasted track, sleepers are supplied with the fastening components captive and pre-assembled. For slab track, the baseplate system is delivered with the Fastclip components pre-installed. In both applications, the clips are held in the parked position and switched onto the rail once it is in place. This makes FC and FE well suited to rail fastening for mechanised track.

Fastclip achieves the correct clamping force automatically once the clip is switched into the installed position.

Speak to our rail experts
  • Supplied captive and pre-assembled, so there are no loose components to fit or lose on site.

  • FC and FE support rail fastening for mechanised track.

  • Lateral adjustment made simply by swapping rail insulators of different thicknesses, without removing the rail.

Product benefits

  • Fast, reliable installation

Captive fastenings and mechanised compatibility drive high rates of installation and maintenance.

  • Option to configure

Fastclip assembly stiffness can be configured easily by changing the design or material used for the rail pad to adjust the overall track stiffness.

  • Versatile

Fastclip is suitable for use on either pre-cast concrete or steel sleepers. Different designs of shoulders are available to suit the requirements of specific applications. Baseplate product options also exist for timber / composite sleepers and slab.

Overview

Pandrol Fastclip FC is the core version of this threadless rail fastening, built for high-volume mechanised track work. Sleepers arrive on site fully captive, with clips held in the parked position and switched on by driving them onto the rail foot with a track machine or hand tool. This allows fast, repeatable rail fastening for mechanised track, across both concrete and steel sleepers.

Overview

Captive baseplate assembly for non-ballasted track, providing a large range of vertical and lateral adjustment with minimal added components. Vertical adjustment reaches up to 70mm and lateral adjustment up to plus or minus 24mm per rail seat, with low toe load or ZLR options for bridges and viaducts.

Overview

The Fastclip FE builds on the proven performance of the Pandrol FC, offering an optimized design that enables faster and easier installation while maintaining reliable track performance. Its pre-assembled configuration helps improve installation efficiency and consistency, making it a practical solution for projects seeking enhanced productivity without compromising the trusted benefits of resilient rail fastening systems.

Overview

Threadless rail fastening built for extreme heavy haul, supporting axle loads up to 40 tonnes and curve radii down to 150 metres. Sleepers arrive pre-assembled with captive fastenings in the parked position, switching quickly into service once the rail is threaded. Compliant with EN13481-2:2012 and AREMA Chapter 30 part 4.

Overview

VIPA SP is a high performance two-pad, two-plate system providing a wide range of applications for concrete, timber and slab track forms, providing optimal efficiency. A resilient track support system developed to attenuate the wheel/rail contact-induced vibrations, which are transferred from the rail to the supporting structure. VIPA SP is a low-stiffness assembly with high levels of vibration isolation, as well as high vertical and lateral adjustment, offering rapid adjustment to configuration with minimal additional components.

There are more Pandrol clips
in service than there are people
in Europe. Over three-times the
amount to be precise. We have
3 billion clips in use and Europe has a population of around 750 million.
