Vanguard
Pandrol Vanguard is a low-vibration rail fastening system that achieves very low vertical stiffness, delivering high levels of vibration isolation at a much lower cost than a floating slab track alternative.
What are Vanguard products and how do they work?
As a vibration isolation rail fastening, Vanguard addresses ground-borne noise and vibration in sensitive urban environments where standard fastenings fall short. Unlike most fastenings, it supports the rail on the web under the head rather than on its foot, letting the rail hang in a resilient connection that works in shear rather than compression. This is what makes Vanguard a genuinely low vertical stiffness fastening. Comparing vibration isolation vs. floating slab track, it offers similar performance at a fraction of the cost and complexity, while keeping high lateral stiffness to limit dynamic gauge widening under traffic.

Product benefits
Simple vertical adjustment
Pandrol Vanguard’s shims slide under the assembly for quick vertical adjustment, with no need to disassemble the fastening.
Accessible components
This vibration isolation rail fastening has elastic components that are easy to reach, inspect and maintain using simple hand tools.
Future-proofed vibration control
Pandrol Vanguard retrofits to almost all Pandrol baseplates, and often onto existing anchors, so vibration can be reduced at any time.
Overview
The Pandrol Vanguard rail fastening provides very low vertical stiffness, leading to high levels of vibration isolation at a much lower cost than alternatives such as floating slab. This makes it particularly useful for addressing ground-borne, or secondary, noise and vibration issues in sensitive urban environments.

Preserving Historic Urban Environments with Low-Noise Metro Infrastructure
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality / 2014
The Golden Horn Metro Bridge is a swing bridge that can rotate horizontally to allow ships through. The bridge is at a height of 13 meters above sea level and has a length of 460 meters and five abutments. Including the viaducts on each side, the total length adds up to 936 meters.

Did you know?
There are more Pandrol clips in service than there are people in Europe. Over three-times the amount to be precise. We have 3 billion clips in use and Europe has a population of around 750 million.
